ADULT DANCE CLASSES 

Intermediate/Advance Modern Dance (Previous movement experience)

Time: Wednesdays 6:45-8pm

Studio Location: Yoga On Center, 44B Mill St, Healdsburg, CA 95448 (across from Parish restaurant and Elephant in the room)

Instructor: Tanya Knippelmeir (UPside Artistic Director)

Price: $25/Drop-in, $200/10 class card available ($20/class), Student price available. Drop-in or Class Card. No registration fee.  Ages 17 & up.

Modern Dance Class (Adult Class- Int/Adv Level)- for the continuing dancer
Joining Yoga, Contemporary Dance, and Ballet this class emphasizes body and spacial awareness, choreography, and performance technique. This non-traditional dance class is designed to enhance your movement technique, musicality, stamina, and provides an adventurous and creative environment. This dance series is also intended to develop future performance opportunities. Previous Movement experience suggested.

BEGINNING Modern Adult/Teen (No previous experience necessary)

Class Description:  If you can walk you can dance! This class is for the absolute beginner and someone who wants to learn about modern dance from the ground up. This class will explore important ideas in modern dance in a fun inclusive way. We will incorporate what we learn into a stress free combination of movements, with the opportunity, to explore your own unique movement style.

Attire:
Form-fitting dance or Yoga attire. Top layer to cover back and shoulders for floor work (long or short sleeve shirt). Class taught Barefoot or in socks.

Company Auditions & Collaborations:

We currently are seeking performers who have experience in dance, movement, and theater.

An UPSide Dancer must be bright, adventurous, generous, and bring something fresh to the dance floor. UPSide reveres the diverse backgrounds, styles, and ideas of their dancers and creates movement inspired by and for the company members.

Auditions are by invitation- we pull directly from the Int/Adv Modern Technique classes.  Rehearsals for UPside performances are Sunday, Monday & Wednesday Evenings.

We are also seeking collaborations with other artists, musicians, photographers, and choreographers to enhance the Sonoma County Artistic Community.
