UPside will show a  ‘behind the scene dance class’ at the beginning of the event, then perform 3 innovative choreographed pieces to open the show.  The TEDx Sonoma is brimming with INCREDIBLE and Inspirational speakers.  You will be entertained, you will be inspired, you will be awoken!

An evening of  Live performance by UPside Dance Company, Mr. December Band, Dance films from the North Bay, and a DJ Dance party with DJ Glitterfox all to kick off our new Healdsburg DAnce Collective!.  UPside will perform the pieces from the Tedx once again, with an additional dance piece to live Mr. December music, we will also screen an UPside dance film from Wildlands art residency and Upside dancers will kick off a community and party.   More about HDC at https://www.healdsburgdancecollective.org/ 

UPside has been selected to be a presenter at TED TALKS 2023 in Sonoma County! 

We are honored.  We are excited.  We are Bursting with ideas. 

March 4th at 1pm UPside Dance Company will be the opening act of the famous forum in Sonoma County to represent the performing arts sector during the presentations.  We are revamping and creating new work centered around the 2023 theme of “This is Us”.  Ten passionate dancers will grace the stage and move throughout the space and will enliven the mundane, expose the heart, unfurl the wings, and ignite the stage with each swirling step…

Sonoma TEDx is celebrating 11 years of bringing technology, entertainment, and design ideas to our county as part of the TEDx nonprofit organization.  The TEDx event at the Jackson Theater in Santa Rosa at Sonoma Country Day School, and open their program with a short performance that engages the crowd and shows off the fabulous artistic opportunities here in our county. https://www.tedxsonomacounty.com/

Happy 2022 dancers and community! after sadly sating goodbye to our beloved Yoga On Center studio space of 10 years, we have found a new home. airport health club is absolutely wonderful dance studio and welcoming new start for UPside dance!

Join us for our weekly company class taught by Jordan Hayes and Tanya Knippelmeir

Please Arrive 10 minutes early to sign a waiver at front desk for UPside Dance.

$17/class and everyone will pay Tanya/Jordan directly. cash please is best!

There is a lovely restroom and water fountain near the studio for us.

You do not need to be members at airport club to take upside class- you will just need to sign the waiver at the beginning of class at front desk.

If you would like to use the amenities, locker room, or the rest of the gym, you can purchase a day pass for $20.

Jordan and I will be at the studio 6:15 and you are welcome to come chat and warm up, stretch, and roll out with the rollers they have.

After taking a pause (New babies, new jobs, new dancers…. and a pandemic) we will be starting classes once more!!!

Modern Dance Class (Adult Class- Int/Adv Level,- for the continuing dancer)
Joining Yoga, Contemporary Dance, and Ballet this class emphasizes body and spatial awareness, choreography, and performance technique. This non-traditional dance class is designed to enhance your movement technique, musicality, artistry, stamina, and provides an adventurous and creative environment. This dance series is also intended to develop future performance opportunities. Previous Movement experience suggested.

With ‘Family Album’, UPside will be exploring family dynamics and definitions as our overarching themes.   There will be innovative dance, live music with Mr. December,  and laughs with Stand-up Comedian Edsel Mac. Think awkward family photos, weird sweaters, shoulder pads, high bangs, and sequin outfits… along with other elements of a more universal and serious nature. Each dance piece will highlight a different relationship, family history, definition, or awkward hilarious family story re-invented in a fun quirky heart-full inspired way….UPside Style!
